Aztec Appoint Debbie Thompson as Non-Executive Commercial Director
Complete construction company, Aztec has appointed Debbie Thompson as a Non-Executive Commercial Director in its latest development to grow the company.
Established in 1988, Aztec now operates across the whole of the UK from its Liverpool-based headquarters in Hatton Garden. Specialising in various forms of construction plus including industrial fit out and refurbishment, Aztec considers itself to be one of the true market leaders in designing and creating quality commercial environments for both public and private sector clients.
This latest move from Aztec follows the company’s take-over of Essendon Construction earlier this year, and demonstrates its drive and ambition to expand further. The merger has resulted in the company directly employing 25 staff, including fully qualified and experienced tradesmen. Aztec also acquired a joinery workshop, which now allows the specific needs of clients to be met in-house, from design to build.
It has worked with some of the largest blue chip companies in the world, including Savills, Audi, Pizza Hut and the BBC. Aztec has also completed large-scale projects locally for Hollyoaks, Riverside Housing, Medicash, Premier Apartments and Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Debbie is widely known and respected across the Liverpool City Region business community in her capacity as Managing Director of DT Commercial Consultancy Limited, and this will continue as she works with Aztec.
Debbie previously worked in the banking industry for almost 30 years as a senior commercial manager at HSBC, then head of Merseyside Business Centre for Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank. She then went on to become head of commercial for St Helens Rugby League Club, and was instrumental in the move from Knowsley Road to the club’s new Langtree Park stadium.
Two years ago, Debbie went on to launch her own consultancy business. She is a registered and approved Growth Accelerator coach, and is currently a member of Professional Liverpool; Liverpool Ladies Network; and business board members for NSPCC Merseyside and Speke Hall Development Committee.
Debbie Thompson said:
“Aztec is a growing company with an extremely positive outlook and excellent reputation. My experience in business development and commercial expansion sits well with Aztec, and I am very much looking forward to playing a role in continuing to take the company forward.
“Liverpool City Region is a vibrant location to conduct business, and I want to see Aztec further develop and really make its mark as a market leader in its sector. I have a strong desire to play an active part in helping local businesses to prosper, drive investment and growth – and I am looking forward to doing this with Aztec.”
Neal Maxwell, director of Aztec, commented:
“We are delighted to welcome Debbie to Aztec and look forward to drawing on her knowledge and wealth of experience to continue to take the company forward. We have very strong company values, and this is something Debbie strongly identifies with.
“These are exciting times in the development and growth of Aztec – both in the expansion of our team and the range of services we can now offer. We are enjoying renewed energy and enthusiasm, and it is our desire to become one of the North West’s leading commercial contractors. We are thrilled Debbie can help guide us on what promises to be an interesting journey.”
