SITS enjoys six month sucess …

ONE of the North East’s leading cloud consultancies is on track to double its annual turnover after enjoying six months of unprecedented growth.

Cramlington-based SITS Group, which provides cloud computing solutions to private and public sector clients across the UK, has turned over £2m since April alone – almost matching the £2.2m it took in the last financial year.

Now, as a result of the increase in demand for its services, the company, at Berrymoor Court, Northumberland Business Park, is increasing its projected annual turnover for the current financial year by almost 50 per cent, from £2.6m to £3.5m.

SITS Group specialises in all areas of cloud computing, from virtual desktop and server consolidation to cloud management and disaster recovery solutions for clients including port authorities, legal practices, car manufacturers and public sector organisations.

Commercial director Phil Cambers puts the increased growth down to a combination of factors, not least of which is a greater awareness among businesses of the need to invest in specialist IT solutions.

“There is little doubt that the economy has picked up,” he said, “however, what is also clear is that companies realise improving their IT capabilities can give them a considerable advantage over their competitors.”

SITS Group primarily works with organisations where 100 or more employees operate computers – including around 20 per cent of the North East’s top 200 companies, such as Bond Dickinson, The Banks Group LTD, ISOS Housing, Aesica Pharmaceuticals, Muckle LLP, Unipres UK LTD and Port of Tyne.

In addition it recently provided comprehensive virtualisation solutions for Newcastle law firm Sintons LLP. “By installing a resilient, flexible and scalable solution we can enable our clients to access their corporate data from any device,” said Phil, “making their workforce far more agile and mobile. This invariably gives them the edge over their competitors and makes them better placed to succeed in a highly competitive world.” SITS Group, which celebrated its fifth anniversary earlier this year, is confident that increased awareness, not only of what it offers, but of its reputation within the industry, will enable it to strengthen its presence in the region in the coming months.

“What has been particularly encouraging,” said Phil, “is that the majority of our new business has come from recommendations from our existing clients and from our software and hardware suppliers.

“I put that down to the fact that we offer a complete package of upfront advice, exceptionally high quality technical skills and post implementation support.”
