Leading Liverpool accountants Haines Watts has made Gillian Edwards their new Associate Director.
Gillian, who was previously the firm’s Senior Tax Manager at the Victoria Street office, received the promotion as a result of her hard work and commitment. She is now one of five directors, working alongside a team of more than 20 staff members.
She said: “I am delighted to be the firm’s new Associate Director. I am fortunate to a part of such a fantastic team who have supported me throughout the years and I’m really looking forward to the future ahead.”
Gillian, who is originally from the Isle of Man, began her career in accountancy at PKF, a leading firm of accountants and business advisers in Leeds where she qualified as a Certified Accountant. After a few years she relocated to Warrington and joined one of the largest independent practices in the North West, GLF, where she also qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor.
In 1999, part of GLF Liverpool merged with Haines Watts Chartered Accountants Liverpool. During this period Gillian gained invaluable experience in the tax investigations sector and she then continued to specialise in the tax department prior to her promotion.
