North East business woman wins at WIN Awards
The founder of Newcastle-headquartered Admiral PR, Georgie Cameron, is celebrating success after being named winner of the Best Creative category at the Women into the Network [WIN] Awards.
The annual event celebrates the best of female entrepreneurship in the North East. Last night, the Admiral PR founder and managing director was awarded with the accolade during a ceremony at The Hilton, Gateshead.
Over the past six months, Admiral has won new business contracts totalling over £250,000, appointed four new members of staff and was also named Outstanding Consultancy of the Year at the 10th Chartered Institute of Public Relations [CIPR] North East PRide Awards.
Commenting on the award, Georgie Cameron said: “It’s an honour to be recognised as a leading business woman in the North East, especially when the region is full of exceptional talent.
“When I launched Admiral over a decade ago, I wanted to build a creative communications consultancy with deep rooted expertise in specialist sectors. This approach has paid dividends as Admiral continues to go from strength-to-strength despite the tough economic climate.”
The WIN Awards recognise, reward and promote the achievements of women in business in the North East. The event is an opportunity for female entrepreneurs of the region to showcase their hard work and achievements over the last year.
Georgie added: “The key to our success is innovation and the past twelve months have been particularly fruitful at Admiral. We recently launched our unique social media measurement tool SociaLIGHT, which allows us to work with new and existing clients to improve their use of social media.”
Admiral PR is a strategic communications consultancy, headquartered in Newcastle with further offices in Manchester and London. Georgie and her team specialise in PR, public affairs and digital communications, servicing clients both nationally and internationally, across a number of core sectors including: science and technology, education and enterprise, healthcare, transport, energy, professional services and natural and built environment.
