TyneMet College launches new construction training facility
TyneMet College has launched it’s new construction training facility in Benton.
The TMC is TyneMet’s third campus after its Coast Road and Queen Alexandra sites, and the new training academy will offer students the chance to learn specialist skills for use in the construction industry.
A range of part-time and full-time courses will be on offer at the campus including bricklaying, carpentry, plumbing, painting and decorating, electrical installations and plastering at various levels.
Bill Midgley OBE, Chair of Governors Tyne Metropolitan College, said: “TyneMet College is at the forefront of academic and vocational excellence, we are delighted to have added this facility to the College’s portfolio of industry standard specialist training that we currently offer.
“The provision of recognised qualifications is an important factor in providing the base for sustainable well paid employment as well as contributing to the economic strength of the region.”
