V1 and Field Studies Council win ‘silver’ Green Apple Award
Business automation software specialist, V1, in partnership with environmental charity, Field Studies Council (FSC), has been honoured with a Green Apple Award. The ‘silver’ graded award recognises how V1’s document management solutions have facilitated environmental best practice at FSC. This is the 11th year running that V1 has scooped a Green Apple Award, announced during a presentation ceremony at the House of Commons on 11 November.
The Green Apple Awards, run by independent environment group, The Green Organisation, honours companies that demonstrate environmental best practice. The awards are well established as being one of the most influential environmental award schemes worldwide.
V1’s document management solutions, Capture and Authorise, have allowed FSC to streamline its financial processes and considerably reduce its environmental impact. FSC has now saved more than £100,000 in bank charges, paper consumption and postal charges and has seen a 10 per cent reduction in time as the finance functions of the organisation have become more streamlined. By processing 25,000 invoices electronically each year, and with less postage between offices, FSC has also estimated a saving of 132,400 sheets of paper and 32 tonnes of carbon.
Janette Martin, Managing Director of V1, said: “We are honoured to have won a Green Apple Award in partnership with Field Studies Council. V1 has been winning these awards for 11 years, which demonstrates how our innovative solutions are helping organisations to significantly reduce their impact on the environment by eliminating the need to store, process and distribute large amounts of paper.”
Richard Walker, Director of Finance at Field Studies Council, added: “Winning this award is a great achievement for FSC and we are proud to have been able to work with V1 to achieve it. As an environmental charity I think it is important that we work in a way that supports our own green agenda. V1’s software has enabled us to do that, and we would recommend V1’s solutions to any other organisation with a serious green agenda.”
V1’s Capture enables organisations to automate and streamline the processing of supplier invoices. Invoices are scanned and, using advanced optical character recognition (OCR) technology, the data from the invoice is automatically recognised and stored. V1’s Authorise simplifies and streamlines the invoice approval process and reduces administration costs and errors. The reduction in paper chasing, combined with an audit trail, enables increased productivity, reduction in costs and a fast return-on-investment.
V1’s portfolio of document management and imaging solutions enable the electronic creation, storage, retrieval, management, delivery and authorisation of business documents. By implementing V1’s systems, businesses significantly reduce their paper consumption, cutting costs and improving process efficiencies whilst supporting their environmental agendas.
