Cosmo Restaurants creates 110 jobs in Leeds city centre

Cosmo Restaurants will invest £1 million in a new pan-Asian eatery at Trinity Leeds, creating 110 new jobs.

The company announced it will open a 11,000sq ft restaurant on 28th November.

The announcement comes just weeks after COSMO revealed it will open a sister restaurant in 2014 at the emerging Arena Quarter in Leeds creating 60 full and part-time positions.

COSMO will offer Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Indian, British, Italian and Brazilian cuisine and features a Teppanyaki, Sushi, Live Cooking, a Robata grill and The Market Place. The Boar Lane restaurant will have a 200 person capacity.

James Brion, Creative Director at COSMO, said: “We’re really excited to confirm COSMO will be launching a restaurant in Trinity Leeds later this month, followed by the Arena Quarter restaurant next year.

“We’ve been closely watching Leeds emerge as one of the Top Five Cities in the UK so the location was an obvious choice for us when we were analysing new towns and cities to expand our growing portfolio of restaurants across the UK.

“By forging ahead and launching two restaurants it’s clear to see we acknowledge the potential in Leeds and are eager to bring our unique pan Asian and world banquet dining experience to the city’s dinners.”

Dave Downes , Centre Manager at Trinity Leeds, said: “We are delighted to welcome COSMO. At Trinity Leeds we already have a fabulous choice of restaurants and bars and the addition of COSMO will enhance the dining experience that we offer at the Centre.”

Cosmo opened its first restaurant in 2003 and now has 13 restaurants across the UK employing over 600 people.
