Manor Walks takes gold in Northumbria in Bloom

PINK PETUNIAS, red geraniums and purple pansies are amongst the array of flowers that have helped Manor Walks clinch a Gold Award in the ‘Northumbria in Bloom’ competition 2013.

Manor Walks Shopping & Leisure in Cramlington impressed judges with its large wheelbarrow displays of brightly coloured flowers and shrubs positioned around the outside of the centre, and walked away with the special award gold medal in the Shopping Precincts and Retail Parks category.

Manor Walks’ general manager, Bruno Coppola said: “We are delighted to have won the gold award in this prestigious competition. I’d like to thank our staff and volunteers who helped put the displays together to brighten up our shopping and leisure complex.

“Manor Walks is based in the heart of Cramlington and we feel it’s extremely important to take pride in our position within the community. On-site we conduct our own water harvesting and encourage natural pollination, so we’re extremely proud our efforts for sustainability have been recognised with maximum points in this category.

“It’s humbling to know our way of celebrating and caring for the community is being achieved as we work together to make a difference not just for today but for the next generation.”
