Cheshire firm launches world leading precision scientific instrument

Warrington based manufacturer of high precision scientific instruments, Hiden Isochema, has launched a world leading new product, called XEMIS.

Hiden Isochema has 20 years’ experience in the design and development of gravimetric sorption analysers and the XEMIS, which was launched in October 2013, is the latest addition to their portfolio of instruments.

XEMIS is a design unique to Hiden Isochema and features their new exosensing technology. It is anticipated the instruments will be used by researchers in universities, research institutes and national laboratories, and in industry in a diverse range of research areas and sectors, which include geochemistry, environmental science, energy research, oil and gas processing, and chemical engineering.

The Hiden Group has been located in Warrington since the parent company, Hiden Analytical, was established in 1981. Hiden Isochema has had a head office at Gemini Business Park since 2003, and moved The Hiden group now has two main facilities in Gemini Business Park and the ambition is to create a Hiden group campus as the business expands further.

The business has a further three offices in the USA; in New Hampshire, Michigan and California, and also a network of agents and distributors throughout Europe, Asia, South America and Australasia. The Hiden group has a broad sector focus serving researchers in the chemical, automotive, aerospace, semiconductor and nuclear industries.

90% of Hiden Isochema instruments are exported and there are now instruments located on all of the six populated continents.

“The company is an example of a world leading business founded, operating and rooted in Warrington. The business recently increased their commitment to the borough when they opened their new, bespoke factory and office development at Gemini Business Park earlier this year.
