Dunelm Homes to show new side to buying with Property Leaseback Scheme

North East homebuilder, Dunelm Homes has launched an innovative sale and leaseback scheme across their North East developments, offering guaranteed rental income for residential homeowners up and down the region.

The leaseback scheme, available only on the purchase of a Dunelm Homes showhome, further highlights the homebuilders commitment to offering flexible and attractive buying options to bolster the number of homeowners in the region.

Dunelm Homes launched the scheme to create a new buying and investment option for individuals looking for a short-term return on their residential property. Under the scheme, buyers purchasing a showhome can rent the property back to Dunelm Homes for the length of the development. The scheme allows Dunelm Homes to ensure the availability of showhomes to interested buyers, whilst also retaining the ability to use the properties to market the wider properties available.

The leaseback scheme is a unique opportunity, offering both the chance to purchase a brand new showhome but also generate rental income from the property direct from Dunelm Homes for the duration of the construction schedule.

Colin Willetts, sales and marketing director at Dunelm Homes said: “Showhomes are typically one of the first homes constructed on any housing development to act as the main ‘shop window’ for properties available to purchase. As such, they tend to be in quite high demand and we wanted to look at ways to retain the value of showhomes as a valuable marketing tool whilst also offering a way for buyers to benefit from a short-term property investment opportunity.”

The showhomes will be sold without furniture and decoration but will be ready to move into with carpets and additional appliances for buyers.

We expect strong early demand in the leaseback scheme but will be looking at how we can extend our range of buying schemes into other areas in the future.”
