Newcastle entrepreneur gets boost from Theo Paphitis
A Newcastle carrier bag entrepreneur is encouraging other regional businesses to tweet Theo Paphitis after a his firm received a flurry of new enquiries after doing so.
Craig Smith who owns The Printed Bag Shop - a supplier and importer of environmentally friendly carrier bags - tweeted the Dragons’ Den star during his weekly ‘Small Business Sunday’ initiative.
Theo reâtweeted Craig’s message to his 399,000 followers and as a result, the business (www.theprintedbagshop.co.uk) has over 100 more followers and new enquiries for their printed carrier bags.
They are also profiled on a new website (www.theopaphitissbs.com) that is exclusive to Small Business Sunday winners.
Craig Smith said: “We’ve been in business nearly 7 year and have won several awards in the past including Entrepreneur of the year two years in a row however this award means so much to the business as social media is a massive part of our everyday lives now.
“It is also great that Theo has recognised our hard work and helped spread the word about what we do to his following.”
Anyone looking for a reâtweet from Theo should tweet him about their business on Sunday between 5pm and 7.30pm, and include the hashtag #SBS.
