Vertu Motors expands into Edinburgh with Hyundai dealerships
Macklin Motors, part of Gateshead’s Vertu Motors Plc, has acquired two Hyundai franchise dealerships in East and West Edinburgh.
The two businesses acquired from the Archers Group and the Phoenix Car Company will bring the total number of Hyundai dealerships in the Group’s growing portfolio to seven, making Vertu Motors Hyundai’s largest UK partner. T
The Archers dealership on Calder Road and the Phoenix dealership on Seafield Road will now operate under the well-respected Macklin Motors brand, with the two Edinburgh dealerships complementing Macklin Motors’ seven existing outlets in Scotland.
Robert Forrester, CEO of Macklin Motors, said: “These dealerships have a great reputation for customer service and the colleagues based there have in-depth industry knowledge. This acquisition is a great opportunity to further develop the Macklin Motors footprint in Scotland, from a standing start a couple of years ago, we now have nine dealerships in Scotland and plan to continue this growth.
“We are delighted to become Hyundai’s largest partner in the UK and look forward to strengthening our relationship with the Hyundai brand with these acquisitions.”
