Barnsley digital hub welcomes new businesses
Barnsley Digital Media Centre is set to welcome another two businesses into the town.
The Barnsley DMC provides a location for creative and digital businesses in Yorkshire and even further afield, with companies moving from as far as London to join the community at the DMC.
Most recent additions to the DMC come in the form of a new land survey consultancy, Vision Geomatics.
Their surveyors are experts in a wide variety different projects from small through to multi-million pound engineering projects, meaning they are happy and able to deal with any project regardless of its size or complexity.
DigitalLawUK are the second new occupants at the DMC, Digital Law relates to the laws online, and includes data protection, privacy, security and social media and the law. DigitalLawUK is run by Peter Wright, a Solicitor and Council Member for Yorkshire with the National Law Society.
Peter explained: “I chose the Digital Media Centre to run the firm from primarily due to the support from the DMC’s business support manager compared with similar office space providers that were often far more expensive for a less practical work space.”
“Since we moved in the DMC has been great, it has proven useful having other businesses here, it makes the working environment a pleasant one.”
Peter lives in Sheffield City Centre and worked out that it would be more cost effective to travel to an office in Barnsley than to set up more locally to his home.
Gareth Scargill, centre manager at the DMC, noted: “We are so pleased that we have yet again been chosen by these fantastic companies as a place for them to be based. It says a lot for what we do here and for Barnsley, that so many great businesses are choosing to come to us.”
The DMC is a £10.5m landmark building that provides its clients with modern, vibrant and affordable office and meeting facilities right in the heart of Barnsley’s Town Centre. The building offers office space for businesses of all shapes and sizes with one-person businesses that are new to the scene through to much larger well-established names setting up camp here.
