Coventry café goes for a triple
A Coventry-based café bar has made its order a triple after opening at two new sites following the success of its first.
Cofa’s café bar opened at the Xcel Leisure Centre in Canley in July 2012, and has been serving regionally inspired food from largely locally sourced ingredients and providing a corporate delivery service ever since.
The name Cofa’s was chosen due to its historical links with the name of the city. It is believed Cofa’s Tree was a meeting point for early settlers in the area and that name evolved into the city’s name today – Coventry.
This first café proved so popular that a further two have been opened. The city centre has been served hot and cold food and drinks from a Cofa’s in the city centre’s Coventry Sports and Leisure Centre in Fairfax Street since October.
And a further site has opened at the newly-refurbished Brandon Wood Golf Course and Club, as the business aims to offer meeting and events services too.
Andy Adkins, manager of Cofa’s, said: “We have been absolutely delighted with the response to Cofa’s in its first year.
“Many of the regular visitors to Xcel Leisure Centre often use the café and have told us what a great addition it is to the site.
“As well as this, local businesses at the nearby Westwood Business Park have been really supportive and have taken advantage of the corporate delivery service we offer.
“With these two new sites we hope to be able to cater to more and more people within the city.
“Brandon Wood Golf Course and Club has recently undergone a six-figure refurbishment, much of that has been spent on upgrading its clubhouse facilities and our new site is a key part of those improvements.
“The new openings will also allow us to expand our meeting and events package, which will provide businesses with the perfect setting and service for meetings of various sizes and requirements.”
