Lancashire telecommunications firm still talking operating losses
A North West telecommunications company has reported an increase in losses for the six months ending 30 September.
Daisy Group plc, of Nelson, Lancashire, reported an operating loss of £11.9 million, up from £10.5 million in the same period last year, despite an increase in revenue.
The group, who sell internet and telecommunications services, reported revenue at nearly £174 million, up from £178 million.
The outlook for the group is positive, after securing managed service contract wins, and the board have announced the acquisition of Indecs, an IT support and consultancy firm.
Daisy Data Centre Solutions Limited was acquired in May 2013, and is performing well and ahead of initial management expectations.
Fixed line calls accounted for just 12% of total group revenue for the 6 month period (2012: 14%).
Matthew Riley, CEO of Daisy, commented: “A number of managed services contract wins in the mid-market have strengthened our position and we have a good pipeline of opportunities going into the second half of the year.
“The Daisy Data Centre Solutions business, acquired in May 2013, is performing ahead of expectations and the change of ownership has been well received by the existing customers following an uncertain period caused by the demise of 2e2. From this foundation, we are building a strong pipeline of business.”
