Developer back on familiar territory

An ambitious Northumberland based house builder is developing two new sites in Corbridge.

County Life Homes, which specialises in small developments of high quality properties in desirable locations, was responsible for building Orchard Court in the town.

This time it will construct two five bedroom luxury homes at Riggsacre, off Apple Tree Lane and four exclusive cottages at St. Helen’s Lane, on the site of the former health centre.

The Riggscare homes will be built to an extremely high specification on quarter acre plots. They will each have approximately 4,000 sq. ft. of floor space with traditional elevations to the front but extensive glazing at the back to offer views over the Tyne Valley.

Construction has just begun and the new properties are expected to be completed towards the end of 2014.

Work on a courtyard development of just four cottages on St. Helen’s Lane is expected to begin in February. Built in stone and render with tiled roofs, the cottages will be of a traditional design but with the inclusion of the latest fixtures and fittings.

A choice of two internal layouts will also enable buyers to plan the interior of the home to suit their needs and all properties will have private rear gardens and garages. Construction should be completed by the Autumn next year.

Mike Pattison, Managing Director, said: “It is great to be back building in Corbridge again, developing high quality homes in excellent locations. We are constantly on the lookout for plots which provide the opportunity to create individually styled homes which enhance the local environment and these two are ideal.”

The most recently completed County Life development – Seafield in Seahouses - was highly commended in the Small Development of the Year category of the Premier Guarantee Excellence Awards.

The 10 luxury apartments, with panoramic sea views across to the Farne Islands and up the coast to Bamburgh Castle, was quick to sell out.

Premier Guarantee is the warranty provider behind over £40 billion worth of property - more than a quarter of a million new homes built by some of the best house builders in the UK.
