PR Agency One launches festive Twitter App

In the run up to Christmas, Manchester-based PR Agency One has launched a new Twitter competition app encouraging users to tweet their top five most festive followers and be in with the chance of winning a £50 One4all gift card.

Created to spread some Christmas cheer, the app unveils a Twitter users top five secret Santas or “Secret Twantas”. Using Twitter Application Programming Interface (API), the app determines this by looking at an individual’s follower list, how much interaction there is between users and how festive they are based on the number of times they tweet about Christmas, Santa, Rudolf and other seasonal words.

The app was created as an alternative to sending a Christmas card with PR Agency One choosing to donate their entire Christmas card budget to the Philippines Disaster Relief instead. As more and more people turn to technology to spread their festive cheer, the app has proved to be a fun, free, environmentally friendly, alternative way of sending a festive greeting to friends.

James Crawford, managing director of PR Agency One, explained: “This is the first time we’ve launched something like this. We all know it can be far too time consuming to spend hours writing and sending corporate Christmas cards. We wanted to create something really exciting as a way of sending a Christmas greeting. We hope this innovative, festive app will make people smile, as it will give them the chance to send a fun festive message to their friends this Christmas and also be in with the chance of winning a great prize.”

This is the first app to come from the company and will be promoted with ongoing online social activity. People who want to find out who their Twitter Secret Twantas are, can simply head over to PR Agency One’s website to use the app and enter by tweeting the hashtag #SecretTwantas to their top five Twitter secret Santas.

A winner will be selected at random from all the entries and the lucky winner will receive a £50 One4all gift card.

One4all Gift cards can be used in 17,000 outlets nationwide, such as Argos, Debenhams, Boots, Currys, House of Fraser, Warehouse, Oasis, TK Maxx and many more.
