Tender opportunities for NW waste management contractors

Waste management professionals across the region professionals are being invited to complete a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) for a new contract framework from social housing procurement consortium, Re:allies.

The consortium has issued a contract notice for the £14 million framework which will be available both for its members and contractors in Greater Manchester, Yorkshire and Humberside.

It will provide services for waste generated from building contracts, office management and neighbourhoods, such as that generated from house clearances and community recycling.

The framework has been divided into seven lots: Greater Manchester; Cheshire; Shropshire and Staffordshire; Cumbria; Lancashire; Merseyside; Yorkshire and Humberside. While those tendering must be able to service all three types of waste outlined, they do not need to be able to cover all geographical areas, and tenders are invited from companies of all sizes.

Clare Tetlow, senior procurement manager at Re:allies, commented: “Waste management is an issue throughout the construction supply chain and requires careful monitoring to ensure the process is as streamlined as possible.

“This latest offering complements our existing frameworks by joining the construction and waste elements of projects together to offer greater efficiencies. This will provide social housing landlords and contractors with a cost effective means of dealing with their waste management requirements.

“Our Waste Management framework closes the loop for the frameworks on offer from Re:allies, Procure Plus, and Efficiency North by providing a valuable service to deal with the waste which is generated from them.

“We will be seeking contractors who can deliver the best services for our members and contractors and, in particular, those who can both encourage new developments in waste management and drive community engagement, for example through neighbourhood training and ‘clear out your shed’ days.”

The Waste Management framework PQQ will be open until 5pm 15th January 2014.
