Washington office fitters secure £1.2 million of contracts

A North East office fit-out firm has reported a bumper final quarter to 2013, winning contracts worth in excess of £1.2 million since the start of September.

The new contracts have secured several months work for the 15-strong team at the Washington-based AMH Workspace Ltd.

The work involves providing bespoke design, fit-out and furniture installation services to a number of high profile buildings in Newcastle city centre including Central Square, Tyne House and Cale Cross House. They have also secured a number of contracts outside the region in Leeds, Birmingham and Edinburgh.

AMH believe the surge in new contracts is a reflection of the general positivity in the market, Ian Moir, managing director at AMH Workspace commented: “Over the last quarter we have definitely seen a change in confidence in the market, there’s a noticeable upturn in the construction market and companies who had previously shelved projects to relocate or upgrade their office space are now coming back to us to take these projects forward.

’Winning this new work has given our businesses a real boost for the final quarter of 2013, one of the bigger new contracts which has a value of over £350,000 has required a full time on-site manager to oversee the 6-week fit-out project. It also puts us on a positive footing for the New Year with work secured until at least the end of January.“

Founded in 1984, AMH create customised workspaces for businesses including design, fit-out and furniture on both a regional and national level. Over the past 29 years AMH have built up a reputation for their expertise and delivering a quality service.

They work across a wide range of sectors including Healthcare, Education, Information Technology and Oil & Gas with clients including Proctor & Gamble, Spire Healthcare, and Aviva,

The company hopes this recent boost in sales will help increase turnover as part of their planned growth strategy.
