New apartments prove popular with variety of buyers

Apartments being built next to a rejuvenated canal in Stroud are proving popular with a wide cross-section of buyers, especially investors.

The stylish, new homes at Central Square, in Greenaways, are being built by Charles Church Severn Valley.

The leading developer has seen a surge in demand for apartments over the past few months and Central Square is no exception, offering a selection of one and two-bedroom apartments, which feature large open plan living spaces that encompass the kitchen, living and dining room. The development also includes three and four-bedroom homes.

Nicola Reed, sales and marketing director for Charles Church Severn Valley, said: “We believe this development is selling well because it does appeal to a wide variety of buyers.

“We are seeing first-time buyers, young professional couples, growing families and older couples looking to downsize as well as people wanting to purchase a holiday home. It is also appealing to the investment market and the properties are renting out very quickly.

“I think investors can see that these homes are produced to a high quality and will give a high yield return. We are very pleased that we have produced a design of apartment that seems to be ticking the right boxes for many, many people.”

The development, which is on the outskirts of the market town, offers 16 different house styles with fantastic amenities on the doorstep together with a hairdressers, beauty salon and bistro on the site.

Nicola added: “It really is a wonderful location with everything that Stroud has to offer just down the road as well as a beautiful waterway right outside your door. It offers a real slice of Cotswolds life with some stunning scenery nearby.

“The Government-backed Help to Buy scheme has also proved popular with our buyers. It is a fantastic scheme that is really helping people get on or move up the property ladder.

“Help to Buy is a Government backed shared equity scheme. It provides a 20% loan on the term of a mortgage, which is interest and repayment free for the first five years. People only need a 5% deposit and it is available across the vast majority of our developments. It’s for first time and next time buyers and there is no salary cap.”

Prices at Central Square start from £112,000.
