To Film or Not to Film

‘I love being married. It’s so great to find that one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life.’ – Rita Rudner.

So, your boyfriend has proposed… Or have you? You can’t wait for the big day, but how do you know where to start? There is so much to do and even the small things can be a complete hassle. Obviously the venue and the dress are on your mind but you want to remember the best day of your life forever, right? A photographer is good; however you can do better than this, get a videographer! They used to be one of the last things to be chosen but now people are realising just how important it is to have a professional videographer at their wedding. A wedding video allows you to completely dig into your past and relive your big day as if it’s happening all over again.

Now, there are more suppliers than ever, so how do you choose? Obviously you want to find a friendly company who will make you and your guests feel comfortable, but they also have to be professional and give you good quality memories of your wedding at a fair price. Take a look at company’s reviews and examples of their videos to make sure you make the right choice. Also have a consultation with the company before you make any final decisions.

If you like the camera and a bit of acting, then you could get a videographer that gives your wedding video a cinematic feel. They will do this by staging various parts of your big day for the camera. They might get you to kiss on command or walk in a certain way as though you’re getting filmed for an actual film. Another option is going with a company who video you without you really noticing. It would be like a documentary; being more natural and capturing moments of your wedding you may not have seen due to rushing around. They would not be obtrusive and would let you enjoy your wedding day with your friends and family instead of with the cameraman! Obviously, not everyone enjoys being filmed therefore if this is the case then go for a less obtrusive company so there are no cameras in anyone’s face.

‘He kept himself out of sight but was able to capture the most amazing things that happened during our day.’ - A client from a non-obtrusive wedding video company.

‘We were always in two minds about having a video, but once we saw the quality and the memories from other people’s weddings… We booked it for our wedding.’ – A satisfied customer that used a good wedding video company.
