Law firm is sailing with Rod Stewart tour

North West law firm Harrison Drury has ‘charted’ its latest success after being chosen to provide legal support for a series of Rod Stewart concerts.

The Lancashire-headquartered firm has advised concert promoters Cuffe and Taylor on its contractual agreement with the global star, as well as deals with individual venues and ticketing company Ticketline.

Members of Harrison Drury’s corporate team have been working closely with Cuffe and Taylor on its plans to stage the three concerts in Blackpool, Stoke and Brighton in June next year.

David Filmer, associate solicitor at Harrison Drury, said: “Cuffe and Taylor is a fast growing business that is striking deals with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry to promote concerts attended by thousands of people. It’s vital for such businesses to have robust contracts in place to protect them in all eventualities. We’re excited to be helping the company stage concerts with one of Britain’s most famous stars and recognisable voices.”

Peter Taylor, director of Cuffe and Taylor, said: “We decided to use Harrison Drury as our legal advisers for this tour due to their excellent local reputation. We are extremely pleased how the firm has dealt with the lengthy negotiations involved in such a complex agreement across multiple bespoke venues.”

The concerts, which will be called Rod Stewart Live, will take place at Blackpool Football Club’s Bloomfield Road stadium, Stoke City’s Britannia Stadium and Brighton’s Amex Stadium.

The tour will see him perform songs from his 29th and latest hit album, Time, which is an autobiographical work and includes the nostalgic love song ‘Brighton Beach’ about his early life.

Cuffe and Taylor was established in 2009 by Peter Taylor and Daniel Cuffe and the duo were instrumental in persuading opera superstar Lesley Garrett to appear at the Lytham Proms in 2010.

The business has since brought some of classical music’s biggest names, such as Russell Watson, Alfie Boe and Katherine Jenkins, to the annual concert, as well as a host of other famous pop and rock acts.

The award-winning business has since branched out into promoting other music events and shows across the UK.
