Sir Eric Peacock and new trustees fuel growth for the Institute of Export

Serial entrepreneur Sir Eric Peacock - who was knighted in 2003 for his services to international trade - is the new chair of the Institute of Export and International Trade (IOE).

Sir Eric, a non-executive director of both UK Export Finance (UKEF) and UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and a graduate of the IOE, is joined by six new Trustees and Directors who will drive the Institute’s vigorous growth over the next three years and support its remit to promote professionalism in international trade.

They comprise Toufak Ahangari, a specialist in international trade finance and chair of the London branch of the IOE, Glenn Collins, technical director of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Neil Hoskins, director of Sussex based ManSys Software Ltd, who has over two decades of experience working with companies to improve international trade.

Also on the board is David Maisey, chief executive and managing director of ICC Solutions in Cheshire – a double winner of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in both International Trade and Innovation categories, Simon Nicholson, who has 30 years’ experience in international trade and works with the House of Lords Select Committee on Exports in an advisory capacity, and Andrew Thorne, managing director of Kestrel Liner Agencies Ltd, who was named in Lloyd’s Loading List top 100 most influential people in the global freight industry.

The IOE’s director general, Lesley Batchelor, said: “Our new chair and trustees will look to the IOE’s future strategy; bringing a wealth of experience to build on the dynamic advocacy that already surrounds the Institute and its work.

“We thank our previous chair, Doug Tweddle CBE, for his significant contribution since 2011 as he leaves the IOE in a strong position for the new board to build on the excellent work of the last three years.”
