Motoring partnership gears up to bring new business to garages

A garage comparison site is gaining traction after launching a partnership with one of the largest multimedia publishers in the UK to keep motorists on the move.

whocanfixmycar.com partnered with Trinity Mirror in August 2013 to provide a platform for garages to find work online and for car owners to find the highest quality and best value mechanics to fix their cars.

The launch has seen whocanfixmycar.com featured by Trinity Mirror across all of the publisher’s platforms and has shown very promising initial results with readers.

Car owners who require repairs, servicing or an MOT can post their jobs for free on whocanfixmycar.com. Garages who subscribe to the site then receive these job alerts and choose which ones they’d like to provide a quote for. Upon completion of the job, motorists are encouraged to leave feedback for the garage to help build its online reputation.

The partnership has been well received by mechanics and garages with the number of quotes produced for drivers up by almost 90% in the first three months, as both job numbers and registered mechanics continue to rise.

Ian Griffiths, CEO of whocanfixmycar.com, said: “The launch of the partnership with Trinity Mirror saw us bring product improvement and expansion of our marketing footprint. We hope to continue with the growth and help more garages across the country to be part of the site to maximise on the exposure, access and efficiency that we aim to provide.”

The process saves motorists the time involved in ringing around garages to collect quotes.

Garages can quote on unlimited jobs once they are fully registered and only pay a small commission to whocanfixmycar.com if they win the work.

Matt Colebourne, director of New Businesses at Trinity Mirror said: “The first three months of the partnership have given us some very encouraging results. We have some exciting developments planned but initially our focus is on maintaining this momentum into the new year and beyond.”

More than 4,000 mechanics have subscribed to whocanfixmycar.com and in excess of 25,000 jobs have been posted by motorists.
