Renowned Yorkshire pub set for 2014 grand opening

A major refurbishment programme is underway to breathe new life into one of North Yorkshire’s most well-known pubs.

The Black Bull at Moulton has been bought by Provenance Inns which has embarked on the extensive renovation project with plans to re-open the landmark pub in spring 2014.

The refurbishment will see the original bar area remain, consisting of a cosy tap room area and informal dining. The original ‘fish bar’ – for which the Black Bull was renowned – will also remain with the addition of a chef’s table for private dining.

The conservatory/garden room is being expanded to incorporate a large, light and airy dining space with roaring log fires and stone floors. There will also be private dining to the front of the pub in the Black Bull’s original private dining rooms.

Provenance Inns director Michael Ibbotson said: “The Black Bull is a perfect addition to our group of village inns and it’s an exciting project for us. The refurbishment is going well and we look forward to seeing the Black Bull make its comeback and welcoming guests very soon.”

York-based law firm, Langleys Solicitors LLP, acted on the acquisition of the Black Bull by Provenance Inns which also owns five other village inns across North Yorkshire.
