Sunshine on Leith? We'd rather have a brand new Charles Church home
Forget Sunshine on Leith – we would rather have a stunning new luxury home just down the road in Gorebridge.
That’s the message from one delighted family who have swapped their rented home in Leith – setting for the feel-good movie of the year – for the luxury life on offer at Charles Church’s stunning new Kirkhill View development in nearby Gorebridge.
Katy and Paul Smith are now the proud owners of a £250,000 four-bedroom luxury detached home at Kirkhill View after previously renting a two-bed flat for seven years.
The couple – who have two children - said they could not believe how far their money went when they decided to take the plunge on to the property ladder after falling in love with their new Maitland home.
Katy, 30, a full time nurse, said: “We had been renting a two bedroom apartment in Edinburgh for a while but decided the time was right to settle down and buy a family home. With the kids getting older, we needed the space.
“The moment I saw the showhome, I knew it was the perfect house for us. It has all the space and privacy we could want. We love the layout of the house and the large kitchen-diner which opens into the lounge makes it a very sociable place.
“The bedrooms are also fantastic and although it’s a large house we are able to make use of all the space. We particularly love the Jack-and-Jill en-suite between the children’s rooms. It is very handy.”
Katy said youngsters Niamh, four, and one year old Ruairidh, were equally happy with their new home.
“The children love it. They love having their own space and Niamh is thrilled to have a garden. We’ve even bought her a trampoline to celebrate.
“It’s a great area to raise a family.” Katy added, “The neighbours are all really lovely. Niamh has already made a few friends on the development and we’re looking forward to doing the same.” Kirkhill View features a range of four and five bedroom luxury detached homes perfect for growing families plus a collection of one and two bedroom apartments suitable for first time buyers.
The development is perfectly placed for commuters with good schooling, local amenities and great transport links and combines the buzz of city centre living with a countryside location.
Charles Church East Scotland’s Sales Director Lorraine Clelland said: “We take pride in the service that we offer our customers and get a great deal of pleasure in seeing the Smiths so happy with their new home.
“Kirkhill View really is a stunning development and we have had a great deal of interest in the homes so far.” Lorraine added: “We have a range of incentives to get people moving into their dream homes including Shared Equity, Part Exchange and the ground-breaking new Help to Buy Scotland scheme.”
