Car show revving into action at the Ricoh Arena

Owners of classic cars will be able to get their vehicles in tip-top condition for the spring when a show for specialist traders stops off at the Ricoh Arena.

The Autojumble (Midlands) is being staged for the first time in the 6,000 sqm Jaguar Exhibition Hall on Sunday, January 5.

Over 70 exhibitors from all over the UK ranging from selling classic car parts to automotive literature and garage equipment to restoration services will be present between 10am and 4pm.

Paul Crooke, of organisers One Louder Events, said the major autojumble and restoration show would feature traders offering a massive and diverse range of automotive treasures for their cherished cars.

He said: “Owner and restorers spend many hours working on their beloved cars ahead of the weather improving so they can drive them again in the spring or in preparation for the first show or club event of the year.

“Strangely, there isn’t an autojumble show for owners to find the essential parts and services they need at this time of year so we decided to change that and organise a show to meet the demand from classic car owners.

“This is the ideal event to help with winter car restorations and maintenance projects and a great chance to get back into indulging automotive passions after the Christmas and New Year break.

“It is also a great opportunity for those with a garage or loft full of old car parts, books, tools, magazines, manuals, models or anything relating to older cars that you never use to get rid of them and earn a few pounds in the process. After all, one man’s junk, is another man’s treasure.

“The Autojumble (Midlands) is the place to start your ‘Classic New Year’ at a venue which has a modern heated building – there are no draughty cowsheds or stalls located in rain-drenched fields!

“We have chosen to host our first show at the Ricoh Arena because of its fantastic location and facilities.

“Its central location makes it easily accessible for classic car owners who live throughout the UK and it is easy to reach since it is just off junction 3 of the M6.

“The response from the country’s top specialist traders has been tremendous and we can’t wait for January 5 to come around.”

Chris Owen, senior events manager at the Ricoh Arena, said the car-park was certain to look spectacular with rows and rows of classic cars.

“Owners of classic cars spend many hours looking after their prized vehicles and this show will fill a gap in the market,” he said.

“The Autojumble (Midlands) will give drivers the chance to buy the parts needed to ensure their cars are in tip-top condition once winter ends.

“The response from exhibitors underlines the need for this type of event and the passion which classic cars generate.”

Tickets are available priced at £7.50 in advance or £10 on the day with under-16s gaining admission for free when visiting with a paying adult. Tickets are now available via the website www.theautojumble.co.uk
