Yorkshire food suppliers' chance to meet Sainsbury’s boss
Sainsbury’s will offer Yorkshire SMEs insight into supermarket supply chain opportunities at next month’s Future Farmers of Yorkshire event in Harrogate.
Speakers at the event will include Sainsbury’s head of Agriculture Sue Lockhart, who is working to double the amount of British food on the grocer’s shelves by 2020.
She said: “Sourcing food closer to home and developing even stronger links with farmers is a key part of continuing to lead on fresh food.”
Sue will be joined Yorkshire producers James Potter of Yorkshire Farmhouse Eggs and Angus Wielkopolski of Yorkshire Dairy Goats, who will both talk about building relationships with the retailer.
The event takes place at Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate at 7.15pm on January 23rd.
