Former Bolton soccer ace scores for new accountancy firm

Former Bolton Wanderers and England striker Kevin Davies has helped to kick off the launch of DonnellyBentley Chartered Accountants, a firm created by the merger of two established Bolton accountancy firms.

Mr Davies met the five directors and thirty-five staff and popped the champagne at their refurbished offices on Chorley New Road, Bolton.

Managing Director John Shaw said: “We have been working to transform our offices and ensure a seamless transition in service for our existing clients who are our first priority.

“We are very grateful to Kevin for taking the time to be with us. I have been adviser to his charity, KiDs of Bolton, since its inception and I know he is kept very busy with that and his training at Preston North End.”

In forming a Limited company, the firm now offers a greater depth of expertise and breadth of services, creating a highly competitive accounting solution for individuals and local businesses of all sizes.

John Shaw added: “In business you have to move with the times, for example, we have recently launched cloud accounting and business mediation services to provide the type of support that our clients now want in addition to traditional services.

“We still have our roots firmly in Bolton however, we are also able to compete in the premier league with our out of town rivals for business further a field.”

DonnellyBentley provide a range of accounting and audit services, as well as outsourcing solutions for payroll, cloud accounting, training for bookkeeping and accounting systems as well as specialist services including taxation advice, wealth management planning, guidance for charities and not-for–profit organisations and an accredited business mediation service.

Bentleys Chartered Accountants have been in business for over 80 years and Donnellys Chartered Accountants formed in 1974.
