Silverstone appointed to Armstrong Industrial Estate refurbishment in Washington
Newcastle-based surveyors, Silverstone Building Consultancy, will project manage the refurbishment of 22 industrial units on Whitworth Road in Washington.
The vacant units, part of the Armstrong Industrial Estate, are to be renovated by IO Asset Management in a bid to attract new occupiers.
Ben Hunter, director at Silverstone Building Consultancy commented: “We have advised IO Asset Management on the refurbishment of the units to include new external cladding, roof repairs, new carpeting and full redecoration which will provide significantly improved accommodation.
“We are now in the process of appointing a main contractor and will project manage the refurbishment process once it gets underway. We are aiming for a quick turn around and envisage the properties will be ready for occupation within 12 weeks.”
Letting agent Matthew McIntosh of MJM Commercial suggested refurbishment will set the units apart from the competition.
