Derby digital firm shortlisted for national technology award

Altius, a small digital company specialising in supply chain compliance, has been shortlisted for a national technology award.

After a rigorous three-stage judging process, the entrepreneurial firm, which is based at Wyvern Business Park, reached the finals of the 2014 Technology in Facilities Management (FM) Awards.

In 2007 Altius developed the Altius Vendor Assessment system - a flexible, cloud-based compliance management service used across the facilities management industry, and within major companies such as Morrisons, Airbus, Selfridges, Boots, Airbus, Debenhams and Arcadia Group. The system is used to assess and accredit contractors, particularly those operating in high risk environments.

The Altius technology enables organisations to reduce risk and liability, cut costs and save time. It can also manage compliance on many other parameters - from health and safety to bribery and corruption policies, CSR, quality, customer service, employment and environmental law, and information security.

Gary Plant, Managing Director of Altius, said: “We are delighted to be one of only three technology businesses shortlisted for the commercial award category. Our software enables users to focus on supply chain development rather than being bogged down in managing compliance. It eliminates the need for manual processes and juggling of spreadsheets - releasing valuable resources so that staff can focus on development issues and adding value to the business.”

The winners will be announced at the Workplace Futures conference on Tuesday 11 February.
