New tenant for Wakefield's Europort estate
Wakefield’s Europort estate is now home to Unisurge after the sale of a 90,000 sq ft warehouse unit.
Suffolk-based Unisurge is a manufacturer of medical disposables and surgical theatre products.
GVA’s Yorkshire industrial team has brokered the deal, acting on behalf of the tenant Scottish Power, which involved a surrender of the lease with a simultaneous purchase by the new owner Unisurge International.
The acquisition of the unit, on Gilcar Way, sees an exciting expansion for the business which has been looking to set up a northern distribution facility in West Yorkshire.
Iain McPhail, associate at GVA, said: “The property is of a quality specification and is well located close to Junction 31 of the M62. Furthermore it offers Unisurge the flexibility to accommodate future growth of the business.”
Matthew Moon, finance director at Unisurge International, added: “The location and specification of this facility is ideal for our immediate requirement for regional distribution to best service our customers.
Additionally we are excited by the opportunity to establish manufacturing capability in the medium term, which will bring with it the opportunity for significant job creation at the Castleford site.“
