Wrexham manager achieves national recognition
A Wrexham boss is celebrating after being crowned top sales manager by a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer.
Alan Austin, who heads up sales at Volkswagen Van Centre Wrexham, had exceeded sales expectations in the final quarter of 2013, achieving the highest percentage increase across the entire Volkswagen van UK network.
The Rhosrobin business, which completed a 1.7m redevelopment in October last year to increase its showroom and workshop bays, employs nine specialists, three of whom are dedicated to sales.
Alan was surprised and delighted to scoop the top title.
He said: “To be recognised for just doing your job is wonderful. We are a small and friendly team who work well together.
“This award to testament to the hard work of everyone involved and for this reason we decided to spend the prize money on a meal out for the entire team.
“Operating a business during our redevelopment was tricky but the end result was definitely worth it and we really appreciated the patience of our customers. This award has been a great boost to start 2014.”
