Dentist expands surgery empire to employ over 100
A North East dentist has grown his surgery empire from just four to over 22 in 20 years.
Dr Paul Averley now employs over 100 staff across surgeries, a dental laboratory, education centre, and advanced orthodontics centre.
Paul first invested in his Billingham-based Queensway Dental Clinic in 1993 and has since transformed the practice into a world-class facility.
He was later joined by partners Ian Lane and Uzma Olbrich, and more recently, William Carter.
Celebrating thr 20-year anniversary of the business, Paul said: “We have continued to develop the Clinic to meet the needs of the public, as well as bringing together a dynamic, highly qualified and experienced team of which I’m immensely proud.
“In particular, the partners have helped the Clinic to evolve and diversify according to their expertise, which meant we have gone from strength to strength. Our Clinic is one of the largest one-site facilities providing dental care in the UK, which is testament to our commitment to achieving the very best.
“I would put the Clinic’s success down to our patient-centred approach. We focus on holistic care, so there is real choice for the patient as well as ensuring that shared decisions are made over which patients have control. People in the North East have witnessed our longevity and some members of our team have been here since our inception, which patients appreciate.”
