Cataclean Global drives exports with new distributor deals

Liverpool-based engine care specialist Cataclean Global is ramping up its exports drive by announcing a collection of new deals with overseas distributors.

Cataclean Global Ltd., which produces Cataclean®, a patented catalytic converter cleaning product, has just signed new agreements in Bulgaria with Sofia-based KAS Trade Ltd, in Slovakia with Komarno-based Mediart Production and in Greece with Athens-based K Angelopoulos & Co.

Graham Fraser, Corporate Development Director at Cataclean®, said the new deals are of ‘fundamental importance’ as the company seeks to grow outside the UK.

“To date UK sales have driven growth but we know there is massive export potential for Cataclean®,” he said.

“We are delighted to announce these new European partners so soon after signing another new Distributor Agreement in the United States with Ohio-based Accel Performance. Moreover, this month has also seen our first shipments to Pakistan and Nigeria.

“We very much see 2014 as a year when we push the brand hard in export markets. We are already in advanced discussions with other new distributors in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America.

“We would also emphasize that we are actively looking for more distributors and encourage any company interested in Cataclean® and which could help us achieve our overseas aspirations to get in touch.”

Mr Fraser said key selling points for the Eastern European and Greek markets are Cataclean®’s ability to cut emissions and fuel bills.

“The UK has some of the best fuel in the world, but we still have millions of cars failing MOT emissions tests every year (see factfile),” he said.

“However, in countries like Bulgaria, Greece and Slovakia the quality of fuel can be poor. This means the engine performance of cars is reduced and emissions are high.

“As a result we have a very strong offering in these countries. Cataclean® can slash CO2 emissions in petrol and diesel cars by up to 60pc by cleaning out dirty and clogged catalytic converters.

“Regular use of Cataclean® keeps engines clean, removing deposits left by low grade fuel and may increase torque and performance. This can reduce fuel bills by improving mile per gallon (MPG) consumption by between 5 to 10pc. Having a healthier engine also reduces the risk of break down and other expensive repairs.

“The cost of running a car can be a large and necessary burden on family budgets anywhere, particularly in Eastern Europe and Greece, but Cataclean® can help.”

Mr Fraser added that the sharp increase in cars suffering problems with diesel particulate filters (DPF) is another big selling point in the export market.

“Modern diesel cars are now fitted with a DPF as part of European Union rules which came into force four years ago,” he said.

“However, many motorists across Europe now are finding their DPFs are failing, typically resulting in a large bill. Cataclean® can help prevent these problems and protect DPFs, but it must be used as a preventative measure before the DPF starts to fail.”

Earlier in January, Cataclean Global announced that UK retail sales had risen from £1.1m in 2012 to £1.7m in 2013.

Cataclean® can be used in diesel, petrol and hybrid vehicles.
