IT firm’s key motor show role
An IT company from the Tees Valley has been playing a key behind-the-scenes role at one of Europe’s largest motor shows.
High Tide Group, which is based at Wynyard Park, was hired to provide IT support to Belgian company Alcopa for the duration of the 11-day Brussels Motor Show.
Alcopa, one of Belgium’s largest companies with over 2,000 employees, specialises in the distribution of cars and powered leisure and mobility products.
High Tide Group’s Director and Lead Consultant Andrew Ingram said: “Alcopa, which represents companies such as Suzuki and Hyundai in Europe, was a key player at the motor show and it needed robust IT systems in place to ensure that it was in a position to sell as many cars as possible.
“Last year, it was hit by a full-day systems outage and we were hired to ensure that such a potentially damaging situation did not occur again.”
High Tide Group was formed in 2008 and is experiencing strong growth. It currently employs four people but brings in additional consultants to work on projects as and when they are required.
The company was hired for the Brussels Motor Show following the success of a £350,000 contract to design and build a new state-of-the-art IT system for Alcopa whose head office is at Kontich, near Antwerp.
