Stafford Business People Offered Chance for Career Boost
Business people in Stafford were offered the chance to give their career success as they start 2014 through a highly interactive event led by renown corporate psychologist and speaker Peter Milligan on Tuesday night.
At the evening, organised by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and held at the Mecure Hatherton House Hotel in Penkridge, Peter offered practical steps that can be taken to build a career and make the most of passion and potential.
As Peter said: “Too many people limit their career success unnecessarily because of not knowing what to do next and how to make things happen. They may be staying stuck in their role because of past failure to find or secure a desired role. My aim is to help people clearly recognise and make the most of their own capabilities.”
Topics covered included ‘personal branding’, how to write a compelling CV, how to succeed in job interviews, how to position yourself for pay rises and promotion and networking. There was group interaction and a question and answer session.
Peter is a corporate psychologist with a background in selecting and developing business leaders and teams and Director of New Generation Leaders. In his talk he drew from his own personal experience, along with 20 years encompassing recruitment, outplacement, career guidance, HR consulting and leadership mentoring and coaching.
