SITS sets its sights on Scotland…
A TOP North East cloud computing company is strengthening its links with Scotland with an event aimed at some of the country’s leading businesses.
In the past 12 months, SITS Group, which provides cloud computing solutions to private and public sector clients across the UK, has secured a significant commercial foothold north of the border.
Now, the Tyneside based company is hosting a free presentation on Wednesday 29th January at the Clydesdale Bank, Queen’s Cross, Aberdeen, to give business leaders in the city an in-depth guide to the services it provides.
SITS Group, which is on track to double its annual turnover to £3.5m this year, already provides services such as virtual desktop and server consolidation, cloud management and disaster recovery to some of the offshore oil and gas industry’s biggest names.
It will be joined at the event by data management company Nimble Storage to demonstrate how companies can reduce their IT storage footprint, accelerate their application performance and reduce risk by cutting the operation time of their backup windows.
SITS Group’s existing Scottish clients include Divex and RMS Pumptools, both of which are subsidiaries of the James Fisher Group PLC, along with a number of other companies associated with the offshore oil and gas industry.
Not only did SITS Group’s experts virtualise their server estates, giving them flexibility and scalability, but they also provided robust back-up solutions and on going support.
“Scotland is proving to be a highly successful market for us,” said commercial director Phil Cambers, “and we are building up a very strong track record of delivering solutions to a wide variety of companies, particularly in Aberdeen.
“Despite its distance from the North East of England, Aberdeen is very accessible and we have found that companies there are making considerable investments in their IT infrastructure.
“The offshore oil and gas industry are performing very strongly and many of the companies we have serviced are allied to that – however what they all have in common is that they recognise we are specialists in our field and that we get the job done properly, first time and on budget,” he added.
Earlier this month SITS Group – whose subsidiary Pivotal Networks, which specialises in advanced networking solutions, is expected to announce a record turnover this year – won the VMware Small Business Partner of the Year 2013 award for the second year running.
The Aberdeen event on 29 January will take place between 12.30pm and 2.30pm and will be followed by an informal networking event at 6pm at Albyn bar and restaurant, Albyn Place, Aberdeen.
