Rowlands Accountants expand further with merger
Rowlands Accountants has merged with Yarm’s J Martin James Chartered Accountants, just weeks after their acquisition of Tax Assist in Hexham.
Following last month’s deal Rowlands have extended their reach into Yarm, where it is now the only firm to hold chartered accountants’ status.
Martin James will now act as a consultant at Rowlands. His one staff member will also move across to the firm, which already employs over 100 business specialists across the North East.
Martin said: “After a quarter of a century working for myself, I decided it was time for a new challenge and to join the ranks of one of the region’s most dynamic accountancy firms.
“Merging the two companies has created a great value proposition for all our clients.”
Rowlands’ partner Peter Millar said: “Part of our growth strategy has been strategic mergers and acquisitions and this move enables us to strengthen our presence in North Yorkshire and the Tees Valley.
“Martin is well respected and brings additional tax expertise to the team, having previously been employed as a senior tax manager at KPMG before establishing his own business.
“The fit is a good one and the proximity of the two offices has eased the transition.”
