Teesside engineers explore partnership with major property firm
A Teesside engineering firm is working on a £500k contract to extend and refurbish Teesside Hospice in Linthorpe.
It is the first time Saltburn-based Scurator has worked for Koru Property Services but now the two organisations are plotting future partnerships.
Gregory Sills started Scurator seven years ago, specialising in civil and geo-environmental engineering services, and has recenty enlisted the help of Redcar Enterprise Team - who facilitated the project.
Gregory said: “The relationship we have with Koru stems from a networking event organised by the Redcar and Cleveland Business Forum.
“I met one of Koru’s directors at the forum and the two companies are now exploring ways of working together on future projects to offer a fully comprehensive range of services.”
Alex Martin, surveyor at Koru, added: “We firmly believe in building relationships with companies we know consistently produce high-quality work and Scurator is one of those.
“We hope this is the start of a productive relationship that benefits both companies.
“It’s all about supporting a local supply chain which can only be good, and results in contracts and jobs being kept in the region.”
It’s an ethos that has the backing of the Enterprise Team, which offers at least 12 hours of free help and support to companies across Redcar and Cleveland, fuelling business growth and boosting economic regeneration.
The 12 hours have been dubbed the Dynamic Dozen and around 50 companies have already completed the programme.
To encourage further partnership working across the borough the Enterprise Team also organises the Redcar and Cleveland Business Forum, which meets once a month providing local companies with a chance to network and access a range of business experts.
