KLM offer Leeds Bradford to China connexions for Chinese New Year

KLM, the longest established scheduled airline at Leeds Bradford Airport, is gearing up to celebrate the Chinese New Year with services to six Chinese cities.

The Chinese New Year, which this year falls on the January 31 with celebrations continuing for a further 15 days, is the most important festival in the Chinese calendar and with KLM operating 4 daily flights to the European hub of Amsterdam from Leeds Bradford, the airline is proud to highlight the six Chinese cities it now serves from Leeds Bradford, connecting via Schiphol.

Flying to China from Leeds Bradford in the “Year of the Horse” could not be easier; the airline is expecting many visitors from Yorkshire flying to its 18 Asian gateways including the Chinese cities of Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Xiamen and Hong Kong to celebrate the New Year with friends and family.

In Leeds, the Chinese New Year promises to deliver a rich cultural experience including dancing, music, Chinese calligraphy, Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Chinese food, crafts, beauty and face painting, organised by the Leeds Chinese Community Association. KLM have joined in the local festive celebrations with its own Chinese dragon in the passenger terminal to celebrate the occasion.

Tony Hallwood, Leeds Bradford Airport’s aviation development & marketing director said; ’‘KLM and Leeds Bradford Airport welcome all passengers travelling for business or leisure to fly locally for their next trip to China. With four daily flights to Amsterdam and quick onward connections to six Chinese cities there is no quicker way to fly to Asia from Yorkshire. We are looking forward to joining in the regional celebrations for the Year of the Horse.’’
