Bristol welcomes second World Information Architecture Day with international speakers.

Strategic digital agency Nomensa, which specialises in online user experience, web accessibility and web design, is coordinating Bristol’s second World Information Architecture Day, to be held at the Arnolfini, a contemporary arts centre in Bristol.

Hosted in the heart of Bristol, the Arnolfini is one of Europe’s leading centres for the contemporary arts and a fitting location for some of the world’s leading Information Architecture (IA) professionals to showcase new ideas, and deliver ground-breaking and innovative seminars to the digital community. World IA Day 2014 Bristol offers the opportunity to learn from world-class IA minds, network with peers and foster links within both the local and global community.

World IA day will take place in 14 cities around the world on the 15th of February 2014 with a focus on the theme of “Designing Structures for Understanding”. Information Architecture is just one component in the emerging field of user experience design. This recognises that a good digital service isn’t just about functionality, but how users feel as they use it. World IA Day 2014 will highlight how to better understand user needs, goals and what influences their experience.

The only event of its kind in the UK, the 3rd annual World IA Day comes to Bristol for the second time, once again coordinated by Nomensa. The event is run entirely by volunteers working to build a stronger IA community. Additionally the event is non-profit , with all money raised through sponsorship and ticket sales being used to make the day run smoothly and feature a wealth of excellent speakers.

World IA Day 2014 is supported by some of the most significant speakers from within the Information Architecture community and sponsored by a number of local businesses, including Nomensa, People for Research and Bristol Usability Group whom all, without exception are excited about the prospect of meeting with like-minded professionals to share information, to discuss the key principles of architecture and design in a digital landscape and above all to help bring together the IA community.

Each location around the globe will host a day of events, speakers, and discussions guided by the local coordinator who will ensure that local events’ format, speakers, and language is relevant to the communities’ needs and interests while keeping with the global theme.
