York's largest industrial property deal in 20 years for music retailer
The industrial agency team at CBRE in Leeds has secured the largest industrial transaction in York for over 20 years by securing musical retailer Gear4music.com at the former Magsons industrial unit.
It will be 135,090 sq ft of warehouse space that Gear4music.com will be taking on at Clifton Moor. CBRE acted on behalf of the world’s largest packaging company, Amcor.
Gear4music.com was launched in 2003 by Red Submarine Limited and has become one of the UK’s largest musical instrument and equipment retailers with over 200,000 registered customers.
The move will mean Gear4music.com can facilitate their continued growth as well as safeguarding circa 100 jobs.
Associate Director of Industrial Agency at CBRE, Dave Cato, said; “Magson House has been by far the largest available industrial / warehouse unit available within York since being brought to the market in 2009.
“This transaction represents the largest industrial letting in central York since the original head lease completed in 1990. The property suited Gear4music.com’s requirements for a stand-alone headquarters warehouse facility and we are delighted to have been able to bring this significant property back into use and that Gear4Music.com can remain in York.”
