New apartments starting to take shape in Bagworth

Six new apartments are being built in a Leicestershire village in a scheme which will also bring a new convenience store to the area.

Leading developer Persimmon Homes North Midlands is creating a block of unique two-bedroom apartments in Bagworth, which will be located above a new Spar food store.

Persimmon hopes the scheme will be a major boost in the popular village that will not only deliver new homes, but a much-needed amenity.

The new apartments are priced from £99,995 and are part of the exclusive Harley’s Place development, which includes a mix of two, three and four-bedroom properties.

Persimmon Homes North Midlands named Harley’s Place, off Jackson Road, in memory of Harley Staples. Harley, aged eight, died in November 2009 after being diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia 10 months earlier.

Sherrie Hankin, head of sales at Persimmon Homes North Midlands, said: “These stylish new apartments will be ideal for first-time buyers, young couples and investors. We believe bringing a new Spar to the area will also be a real boost for residents as it will be the only convenience store in the village.

“Harley’s Place is very close to all our hearts and has all the makings to become a lovely, close community. It’s surrounded by lovely countryside including a swale, which is perfect for walkers, dog owners and nature lovers, but the site also offers the best of both worlds with good commuter links to the M1.

“It’s a lovely spot; perfect for people starting out on the property ladder and also for families and with Help to Buy available, 2014 could be a very exciting time for people looking to move to Bagworth.”

Help to Buy is a Government-backed shared equity scheme. It provides a 20% loan on the term of your mortgage, which is interest and repayment free for the first five years, while people only need a 5% deposit.
