Coach visits up at Albert Dock

Albert Dock Liverpool is celebrating the news that coach visits in 2013 were 17% up on the previous year - 4,137 coaches visited the world-class destination, compared to 3,527 during 2012!

The positive figures come as Albert Dock Liverpool hosted a stand at the Great Days Out group travel fair. The city’s most-visited free tourist attraction unveiled its group offers at the show in Manchester, and also welcomed a group of delegates from the industry back to the Dock for an exclusive tour.

As well as a surge in coach visits, Albert Dock Liverpool recently announced that visitor figures for 2013 were up by 5% - representing the fourth consecutive year on year growth at the Grade I Listed attraction!

Peter Cronin, director of development and marketing for Albert Dock Liverpool, said:

“It is fantastic to be able to announce our rising coach visitor figures at the Great Days Out fair. We have been developing our groups offer over a number of years, and we are committed to an enhanced coach welcome. It is yet more positive news for Albert Dock Liverpool, a great start to the new year and testimony to the hard work that goes in to making the Dock a really amazing and unique place for groups to visit.”

Jeremy Roberts, chairman of the Albert Dock Tenants Business Association, said:

“The Dock businesses work tirelessly together with the estate to ensure visitors feel welcome and have the best possible experience when they are here, be it eating in one of our restaurants or exploring the many wonderful attractions.

“Once more, we have added a unified groups offer adding to the group experience by giving added value incentives for large party bookers. We look forward to welcoming the many future visitors to Albert Dock Liverpool.”

Chris Brown, director of Marketing Liverpool, said:

“When you consider its strengths, it’s no surprise that there has been such a marked growth of coach visitors to the Dock over the last year. As well as offering some of the finest cultural attractions in the city, the wide range of food and drink options make it perfect for a large group with differing tastes.

“It’s clear why Albert Dock is so popular with passengers, but the work done behind the scenes to attract coach operators is just as important.”

Coach visits are welcomed as part of the city’s Coach Welcome Scheme, with Albert Dock Liverpool providing complimentary refreshments at selected venues for coach drivers and a personal welcome from the Liverpool City Stars for pre-booked coach visits. Groups are an integral part of Albert Dock Liverpool’s continuing visitor profile and it will continue to develop and improve its groups offer to ensure it caters to the needs of the millions of people that visit the Dock every year.
