Humber LEP helps represent the UK at Barcelona energy event

Humber Renewables and Humber LEP is attending the EWEA, the European Wind Energy event in Barcelona.

The team which will include regional businesses will attend from March 10-13 2014, and Humber LEP is making a “last call” for Humber businesses to sign up to use the stand at the event to meet investors.

Companies that wish to sign up to attend the event may qualify for getting 50% of the costs to attend reimbursed.

Companies that have already signed up to attend the exhibition include Rix Sea Shuttle, Windpower Support, University of Hull, ABP and P&O Offshore Energy Support.

They will use the stand as a base to make contacts and generate leads with investors.

This is the first time Humber Renewables team has taken a stand to a European renewable conference. If the interest from businesses is significant, the group would look into taking a bigger stand to a future European exhibition.

EWEA 2014 Annual Event will build on the success of the 2013 edition, which attracted more than 400 exhibitors and over 8,500 participants from the entire wind energy supply chain.

EWEA 2014 Annual Event, Europe’s premier wind energy event, presents an international platform for the wind energy industry to showcase and demonstrate its latest products and services as well as offering a great chance for networking.

The Humber Renewables team, which brings together inward investment officers from the four local authorities – Hull, East Riding, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire - together with the Humber LEP, will also be taking an exhibition stand to three UK renewable events later in the year to share good practice and attract investment to the Humber region linked to Energy.

These including the All Energy event in Aberdeen in May 2014, the Offshore Wind Conference and Exhibition in Glasgow in June 2014 and the Renewable UK event in Manchester in November.

Humber LEP manager Richard Kendall said: “We have carefully selected a small number of national and international conferences to communicate the Humber Renewables offer and make key contacts over the next 18 months.

“We aim to replicate the success of last year’s exhibitions at which we were able to establish some good leads and contacts.

“We hope businesses from the Humber who could benefit from attending take this opportunity to go.”
