Wetherby cyber security firm expands with new London offices and NED appointment

Cyber security firm, RandomStorm, has expanded with a London office and also appointed Tony Bolland of AppSense as non-executive director.

RandomStorm opened its first London office in Bishopsgate in January: providing an additional base for RandomStorm’s expanding team of penetration testers and network security engineers.

RandomStorm was founded in 2007, in West Yorkshire, to provide information security products and world-class consultancy services to enterprises and SMBs.

The NED appointment comes just three months after RandomStorm was listed as the 21st fastest growing technology company in the Deloitte UK Fast 50.

Using the Deloitte formula, the company calculated that its revenue grew by 1062% between 2009 and 2013.

Its clientelle include financial institutions; transport companies; utilities companies; local councils and premier league football clubs and is listed among the top three fastest-growing companies in the North of England.

Tony Bolland is experienced at leading high-growth technology companies and brings more than twenty three years’ information security industry knowledge to the role.

He co-founded Vistorm Ltd., an information security and infrastructure services company that was successfully acquired by EDS in March 2008.

He was co-founder and CEO of AppSense, a global leader in enterprise workplace management software and, most recently, held the position of CEO at Windows privilege management company, Avecto.

He has held leadership and board positions with three of the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 companies, which identifies Britain’s private technology companies with the fastest-growing sales over a three year period.

RandomStorm provides vulnerability scanning; network security monitoring products and consultancy services, to help public and private sector companies to improve their security posture and comply with industry guidelines and data protection regulations.

The company is a CESG CHECK security consultancy and certified as both anApproved Scanning Vendor and Qualified Security Assessor by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council.
