Morgan Hunt hosts ‘Dragons Den’ style initiative for the Dame Kelly Legacy Trust (DKHLT)
Young People from the DKHLT ‘Get on Track’ programme enter Morgan Hunt’s boardroom
The Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust (DKLT) primary purpose is to get young lives on track. Recruitment agency, Morgan Hunt joined forces with the Trust in April 2010. Using their skills, resources and relationships, Morgan Hunt work in partnership with the Trust to support disadvantaged young people who are not in employment, education or training (NEET) to ‘Get on Track’ through a number of initiatives. One of which is ‘Dragon’s Den’ – named so because the format takes on a sales-style pitch held in the boardroom of Morgan Hunt’s London offices.
“It’s difficult to imagine the challenges that some young people face in making that crucial break that leads to employment, so we were delighted to welcome 20 young people to our offices” says Sue Cooper, Managing Director at Morgan Hunt. “Our employee contribution in support of our charity partnership and these initiatives in particular, is fantastic.”
The ‘Dragons Den’ style event is just one of the charity partnership initiatives that Morgan Hunt helps stage in conjunction with the Trust. Their initiatives are designed to help improve employability, using everything at their disposal including mentoring, ‘back-to-work’ CV-writing and interview courses.
“Working with Morgan Hunt has given us so many different benefits. My team love working with Morgan Hunt and getting expertise, and we get real support for the young people that we’re trying to get into jobs” says Julie Whelan, Chief Executive of the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust.
“We see a difference when the young people walk into Morgan Hunt offices and when they walk out. They see not only a professional environment but young people also striving to be the best that they can be.”
The ‘Dragons Den’ style event is held once a quarter across Morgan Hunt’s three UK locations. In addition to this, where possible Morgan Hunt aim to provide exit routes through work experience, jobs in their recruitment teams or with their clients.
