2014 starts with deals at Sanderson Weatherall
The first month of 2014 saw the commercial agency team at Sanderson Weatherall in Newcastle complete more than £5m in deals, giving rise to strong optimism for the year ahead.
Richard Scott, Partner at the firm, which is based in the city’s Grey Street, said: “At the end of 2013, we were seeing real signs of an improvement in the commercial property market on Tyneside, which is a clear indicator of positivity in the wider economy.
“The start we have had to 2014 shows we are building on that and that there is ongoing improvement in the market.”
Among the deals concluded in January were the following sales:
• Four industrial units to the west of Newcastle.
• A 35,000 sq ft unit on Team Valley.
• A 20,000 sq ft office building in Gateshead.
• An industrial unit in Newcastle City Centre.
Richard said: “This start to the year gives us real confidence for 2014. The last six years have been tough across the economy, and there is still pain to come for some, especially with there being an extra two years to wait for property rates to be rebased, but this is a great start and we should take heart from it.”
