Young entrepreneur brings a piece of Harley Street to North East

A young Gateshead woman is using the skills she has learned training as nurse and skin specialist around the world to deliver a Harley Street experience for North Easterners.

Luisa Scott has invested £10k from her own funds and family to launch the ‘Newcastle Skin Clinic’ in Jesmond - as she hopes to take advantage of demand for medical aesthetics.

With help from Project North East Luisa has developed a business plan for the clinic which is located on Jesmond Road West.

Luisa spotted the opportunity to bring Harley Street quality to the region after spending a number of years in London, training with top dermatologists and plastic surgeons, as well as running clinics.

Her luxury take on the medical aesthetics offering is aimed at tapping into an industry estimated by the Government to be worth £3.6 billion by 2015.

Luisa said: “I’ve been in London for last three years gaining some valuable experience working with some industry leaders, and have always kept an eye on the North East market as I have clients up here, so made regular visits back home.

“I worked from a home clinic at my parents house and when I outgrew that I was offered the chance to take over the building that I am in now, and just fell in love with it so moved my life back to Newcastle.

“I wanted to give the people of the North East a piece of Harley Street without the requirement or added expense of them traveling to London…and of course its my home so its always been my dream to return here.”

Initially the clinic will just support Luisa, however she intends to employ a clinic manager and therapist within the first two years.

The clinic will offer treatments such as Botox, fillers and lip enhancement through to specialist care of skin problems.
